Our story

Our story began in 2004, when Flavie, one of our three daughters, was strucked by a peanut allergy. After that event, Flavie went through some tests that revealed that she was also allergic to three-nuts. Of course, as any responsable parents, we had to learn the things to do to make sure that Flavie would lead a safe life. We quikly realised that one of the major problems with food allergies is cross contamination. That means that many foods like dryed fruits, granola types of cereal or some candies that do not contain nuts or peanuts are contamined by these allergens. While doing lots of research to find safe foods for my daughter, I noticed that it was taking up a lot of my time and energy. I also talked with other parents with allergic kids and they told me about their troubles in finding safe treats and snacks for their kids.

I’ve always wanted to create my own business. One morning, during a family vacation, my spouse gives me an idea. “Why don’t you sell all of the great things that you have found for Flavie?”, he say’s. I thaught that it was a great idea and I really liked the idea of helping people. Flavie is now 6 and she has been through some frustrations at birthday parties (as many other allergic kids) where I had to explain to her that she could not have any of the candies that were placed on the tables. I always bring her a piece of cake that is safe for her but even if some candies are safe for her, she can’t have them at parties because the kids put their hands on all the candies and they contamin the ones that she can have by doing so.

I put all my efforts in finding foods that are sometimes difficult to find not only for people that are allergic to peanuts and three-nuts but also for people with other frequent allergies like milk, eggs, wheat,... I’ve put up a web site in which you will be able to find foods that are safe for your types of allergies. DONATIONS

Allergy Menu will be making donations regularly to the reserch for sick kids. Having three wonderfull kids who have been hospitalised and treated at Sainte-Justine’s Hospital many times, I find it very hard to see these little treasures fighting against desease, sometimes fighting for their lives.
